Initially I was brought in as a consultant to rescue a resort on the brink of closure. When I arrived, there were no structured accounting practices or management policies, and operations were largely unregulated.
In just six months, I raised room rates from $25 US to $75 US, and within a year, they were consistently over $100 US per night. Over four years, rates climbed to $150-$250 US per night for room-only stays in peak season.
The cabanas, situated beautifully on the beach with ocean views, lacked air conditioning and needed significant upgrades.
I transformed the property into a minimalist haven, ensuring each cabana offered quality essentials. I personally redesigned each cabana, infusing them with unique themes and upgraded linens, mattresses, and bed frames. We implemented strict management policies and enhanced overall service standards.
Initially plagued by declining online reviews and a poor reputation, I swiftly reversed course within a year. Our customer reviews soared, and we became one of Hopkins’ top-rated properties, earning annual recognition on TripAdvisor.
The resort boasted eight cabanas, a restaurant, and a yoga studio. I led efforts to revamp the property, designing new signage and a website, and revitalizing social media presence. Ongoing services included staff training in customer service and management, as well as interior design and landscaping enhancements. My efforts elevated the resort to a leading destination in Belize, beloved not only by international visitors but also embraced by locals. It evolved into a respected yoga, health, and wellness retreat, attracting a discerning clientele and significantly boosting revenue.
